"I'm Still Here" AAHSA's 2010 Theme Song
-
March, 2010
In July of last year, we told you about the song, "I’m Still Here", which we wrote and recorded for the "Be With Me Today" DVD series focusing on the lectures of Richard Taylor, a psychologist diagnosed with the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease.
The song was recently licensed by AAHSA (American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging) to coincide with their 2010 theme “Who Decides?” As many of you may remember, we wrote AAHSA’s 2009 theme song “Changing Lives” It’s an honor for us to be working with this wonderful organization again. Our Performance @ The Agape Spiritual Center
-
September, 2009
We traveled to LA in September and performed at The Agape International Spiritual Center in Culver City.
A lot of you may have seen Agape’s Spiritual leader, Michael Beckwith, on shows like "Oprah" and "Larry King." He was also one of the featured speakers in the popular movie, "The Secret."
His wife, Rickie Byars Beckwith, is one of the most highly recognized Spiritual Songwriters in the world. It was an honor for us to, not only perform there, but to witness the magic of music and message created by Rickie and Michael.
Our performance was streamed on the web around the world and archived on the Agape website. Click this Agape link to see the service and the performances.

"Be With Me Today" DVD Series
-
July, 2009
After writing the theme song for AAHSA, we were approached by Kim Mcrae of "Have a Good Life Media" to compose and produce a song for a DVD series about Richard Taylor, a psychologist who was diagnosed with the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease at the age of 58. After being diagnosed, Richard wrote "Alzheimer’s from the Inside Out," a very candid collection of essays about the challenges and frustrations of dealing with his diagnoses. The success of the book inspired Richard to tour the country and tell everyone about his experience for the purpose of improving care for patients with Dementia. Each lecture will be featured as part of a DVD series called "Be with Me Today." It was an honor for us to write and record the song, "I’m Still Here," for the ending credits of the DVD. "Changing Lives" AAHSA's 2009 Theme Song
-
April, 2009
Since we've moved to the west coast, we've opened the doors to some wonderful opportunities. However, one amazing opportunity came to us from some friends of ours on the east coast.
Walter Coffey and his partner David Sprowl live in Atlanta, GA and we met them through our work with Center for Spiritual Living in Atlanta. They've become two of our most loyal fans and we've been grateful for their friendship since the day we met them.
Walter is the President of The Georgia Aging Services(GASA) and David is the Executive Director of Lutheran Towers in Atlanta, an affordable housing facility for elders.
When it was time for Walter to organize the GASA 2009 Conference in Augusta GA, he and David thought it would be great to have Laura and I not only perform at the conference, but to also write, record and produce the theme song, "Changing Lives" for the conference. We thankfully said "yes" to this amazing opportunity.
After the song was completed, AAHSA (The American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging) licensed the song from us to use in all of their marketing and video presentations. AAHSA also hired Laura and I to perform at their National Conference in November.
Thank you Walter and David for opening up a very big door for us.
